Applicants for the Lien I-Nan Scholarship must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must have both an M.D. degree and board certification as a physiatrist in his/her own country.
- Applicants must hold foreign citizenship and work in a hospital outside of Taiwan.
- Applicants must be fluent in English or Mandarin.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited training program of rehabilitation medicine in Taiwan for at least one month.
- We consider only applicants who receive no other funding. If applicants are approved for any other funding or scholarships later, they will be asked to make choices.
- Applicants are responsible for obtaining a legal visa for their stay in Taiwan and for following the government’s regulations regarding medical practice and employment.
Scholarship
The Lien I-Nan Scholarship provides a maximum of four positions each year, with each award being US$1,500.
Scholarship recipients will receive 50% of the total amount upon their arrival in Taiwan. The remaining 50% will be disbursed after the recipients complete their training in Taiwan and submit the official certification of completion from the training institute.
How to apply
Applicants should submit the following documents to the office of the Lien I-Nan Foundation for Promotion of Education and Research in Rehabilitation Medicine by October 30th for consideration for the scholarship next year.
Document required
- Completed application form with a recent photograph.
- A recommendation letter from your academic supervisor or the director.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Photocopy of your diploma in medicine (M.D.).
- Photocopy of your board certification as a physiatrist in your own country
- Employment certificate.
- Photocopy of your passport (the page containing personal information and photograph).
- Approval letter or certification of training from the training institute or the advisor in Taiwan.

- From Taipei Main Station of Taipei Metro to National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH):
